This installation piece of thirteen ceramic skulls on a wall, in a small space; was made to make people to face death - literally and metaphorically- and to honour the lives of all creatures.
I took inspiration from the catacombs and caves filled with skulls in cramped spaces to bury the dead; and the Ñatitas of Bolivia who are collected by the living and believed to give wisdom to the living. I was influenced by the tarot cards, their guidance coming from the spirits or ancestors; and the meanings of them, such as Death (or XIII) represents a new beginning, not the end.

Photographs taken in 2020 of these same skulls within a photo studio.
