In January 2020, I had an exhibition at Foodstory, in the upstairs shop space. The exhibition was about showing reverence to animals. I felt as though this exhibition was relevant to do this exhibition in January because it was a time of reflection and remembering the past, in light of a new future. This show was a mix of ink drawings, ceramic skull casts, film photography, and poetry books.

Here is the Exhibition Statement poem:
Reverence
An important reminder
To show a deep respect
To the dead
To the past
And even
To a past self.
A reminder of the life that you have lived,
And what is a better time than in
January.

 A new beginning
Like the meaning of the death tarot.
Winter solstice has just passed
Light is starting to rise up again
From a time of
Darkness.

New years
Is a time of
Reminiscing and reflection
A time to remember
Memories
Good and bad
Of those important to us
Human or other fauna
The lives we have lost.
It can be sad to remember
But it is good to.
Keeps us human
Keeps us mindful
Keeps us empathetic
We can now honour those loved ones
Within each new day and resolution of this year
For them
But also
Most importantly
For ourselves.
