Within the glass cabinet, I placed a real roe deer skeleton in pieces - hanging up on fishing line to appear as though it was floating in mid air - representing the soul leaving its body. Along with the skeleton, there was a bed of moss to signify nature, and there were screen prints onto the glass, of calligrams of poetry and bones. I used poetry to help myself understand and process the loss, so I integrated this into my artwork.
It was inspired by death, nature, rituals associated with death specifically excarnation; and dealing with a loss myself at the time.
